Eutelsat announced recently that it has entered into a new multi-year agreement with Azam Media, enabling the audiovisual group to enhance its satellite capacity to expand pay-TV services across East Africa.
Under this agreement, Azam Media will gain access to two additional transponders on Eutelsat’s satellite, which plays a crucial role in serving video markets in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East from its 7-degree position, complementing the current capacity on Eutelsat 7C.
The expanded satellite capacity will allow Azam Media to introduce new offerings in its competitively priced pay-TV package, which already includes 130 channels.
Eutelsat and Azam Media, which is part of the Tanzanian Bakhresa Group, have maintained a collaborative partnership for nearly a decade.
