Italy’s Podcasting Festival is back for its tenth edition, bringing together events nationwide, online broadcasts, live podcast sessions, and networking opportunities for podcast enthusiasts.
Under the creative direction of Ester Memeo, this year’s festival aims to bolster the podcasting community and showcase its influence on cultural and social innovation.
Kicked off on September 20th, the event spans from Trieste to Palermo and will continue until October 2nd. The festival features a dynamic lineup of workshops, meetings, and performances that explore the role of podcasting in culture, education, politics, science, current events, and local heritage.
On September 30th, coinciding with International Podcast Day, the festival will extend its reach globally with a free online event.
Highlights of the festival include insights from James Cridland of Podnews on future industry trends, Steven Goldstein discussing the rapid changes in the media landscape, and Arthur Larrey of Audion focusing on the integration of audio and video.
The European Commission’s podcast, EU Finance, will also be featured, along with the unveiling of a NielsenIQ study for Audible, which analyses podcast listening habits in Italy. Additionally, sessions will be held on SEO strategies, monetisation, sound quality, cross-media projects, and sound design techniques.
Milan will serve as the heart of the festival, with activities hosted at Cascina Triulza in the MIND District on October 3rd and 4th. The first day will showcase Emerging Podcasts 2025, networking opportunities at AperiPodcast, and live performances including Enclave, Operazione Betulla, and Sangue Loro, accompanied by investigative segments from 24Ore Podcast.
On October 4th, the Podcast Summit will address themes of social impact, civic engagement, artificial intelligence, and geo-localised storytelling.
The festival has garnered sponsorship from Acast, Audible, Audion, Yamaha Music Europe, and Legacoop, as well as media partnerships with outlets such as Radio 24, Spotify, EMERGENCY, and Canva.
Awards will be presented for notable contributions in the podcasting space, including the Media Key Award for Best Emerging Podcast, the POD24 Award for Best Independent Investigative Podcast, and the Active Powered Award for Best Business and Marketing Podcast.
