
MTN Cameroon joined forces with French telecoms engineering firm Camusat Group to enhance its digital backbone via its energy and infrastructure division, Aktivco. The move is a major step towards the push to digitalise Cameroon’s connectivity ecosystem with a high emphasis on innovation and sustainability.
This partnership will see Camusat deliver one-stop-shop telecom and power infrastructure solutions to increase MTN’s network coverage and improve its reliability nationwide. The two firms’ shared vision of facilitating Cameroon’s digitalisation through adaptable and energy-saving technologies encapsulates the project.
MTN Cameroon has already committed to investing $225 million over the next three years in bolstering its operations nationwide, specifically focusing on expanding its financial technology products.
Regarding the partnership, Wanda Matandela, MTN Cameroon CEO, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable digital development. “We are committed to reaching and empowering Cameroonians with technology-driven economic growth. Such partnerships are key to making that vision a reality,” Mandela said.
Aïda Diouf, Camusat Group’s Africa Executive Director, highlighted the importance of investing in robust and sustainable infrastructure tailored for the African continent. “This alliance reflects our commitment to supplying telecom operators with high-performance, long-term solutions that balance efficiency and respect for the environment,” she said.
The alliance places MTN Cameroon and Camusat at the forefront of the country’s digitisation process, which is supported by robust infrastructure and a visionary energy policy.
