HBO Max is set to broaden its international presence with the launch of its streaming service in 12 new countries this July. This rollout follows earlier expansions in Australia and Türkiye, showcasing the platform’s significant growth strategy. The latest markets include Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, and Tajikistan. Subscribers in these regions can access a rich content catalogue from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, and Max Originals.

The service will feature highly acclaimed titles such as the complete Harry Potter film collection, A Minecraft Movie, and returning favourites like The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Peacemaker, and The Pitt. Furthermore, viewers can look forward to upcoming series like Task and IT: Welcome to Derry and iconic shows such as Friends and The Big Bang Theory. Subscribers in select areas will also gain access to exciting sports content, including tennis Grand Slam tournaments like the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and cycling’s Grand Tours, although availability may differ by country.

JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming and games at Warner Bros. Discovery stated that this expansion is part of HBO Max’s momentum for growth, with additional market launches planned throughout 2025 and into 2026. As of Q1 2025, HBO Max has achieved 122.3 million global subscribers, reflecting a solid increase of 5.3 million since the previous quarter.

HBO Max will offer two subscription tiers to meet diverse viewer needs: the Standard Plan supports streaming on two devices in full HD with up to 30 offline downloads, while the Premium Plan allows streaming on four devices in 4K UHD and up to 100 downloads. The service will be compatible with various devices and support common payment methods, ensuring a seamless user experience as it continues to establish itself as a leading destination for entertainment worldwide.
