The Radio And Digital Sound Broadcasting Summit – Africa 2025 (6th Edition) is set to take place from 24 – 25 June 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa, bringing together key industry stakeholders, broadcasters, content creators, and technology providers to explore the dynamic relationship between evolving technologies and the delivery of impactful, high-quality content in the digital sound broadcasting landscape.

As radio and digital sound broadcasting continue to evolve, the industry is experiencing a transformation driven by cutting-edge technologies such as AI-driven content curation, cloud-based automation, 5G streaming, and personalised audio experiences. These innovations are enhancing the way content is created and distributed and redefining audience engagement in an era of on-demand and interactive listening.

According to organisers, the summit will provide a platform to discuss the latest advancements in digital sound broadcasting and examine how next-generation technologies are shaping the future of radio and digital audio platforms. While the rapid adoption of new technologies offers numerous benefits, it raises important questions about content quality, authenticity, and ethical broadcasting. The summit will address how broadcasters and content creators can maintain storytelling integrity while leveraging digital tools for efficiency and audience expansion.

Commenting on the significance of this year’s summit, Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa, said, “The future of radio and digital sound broadcasting lies in how well we integrate evolving technologies with creative, impactful content. While automation and AI are streamlining production and distribution, the essence of high-quality broadcasting remains rooted in meaningful storytelling and audience connection. This summit will serve as a key meeting point for industry leaders to explore how we can navigate these innovations to enrich Africa’s audio landscape.”

With a growing digital sound market across Africa, this event is poised to be a milestone gathering for professionals looking to stay ahead of industry trends and ensure that evolving technologies continue to enhance the quality and impact of audio broadcasting.
