Eutelsat Group has announced an exciting partnership with Clear Blue Technologies, a leader in smart energy solutions. This collaboration aims to enhance connectivity across Africa by introducing advanced, energy-efficient broadband services tailored to benefit businesses and community WiFi networks, even in areas where energy resources are limited.

In regions facing challenges related to consistent electricity supply, integrating smart power management with top-tier IP connectivity becomes essential. Eutelsat plans to incorporate Clear Blue’s energy management technologies into its GEO Konnect and LEO OneWeb platforms. This strategic move will provide reliable, sustainable, and scalable connectivity solutions, empowering enterprises and transforming communities throughout the continent.

The new offerings will include:

  • Smart Load Shedding: This feature ensures that critical connectivity remains stable and high-speed, even under conditions of low power availability, enabling essential services to function uninterrupted.
  • Adaptive Broadband Quality: The service can intelligently adjust in real-time based on available power levels, optimising performance and user experience.
  • Intelligent Power Monitoring and Savings: Innovative systems designed to minimise power misuse and enhance energy efficiency can lead to substantial cost savings for users.

Cyril Dujardin, president of Eutelsat’s Connectivity Business Unit, stated, “Our strategic partnership with Clear Blue signifies a major advancement in our goal to expand digital inclusion throughout Africa. By merging Eutelsat’s power optimisation expertise with Clear Blue’s smart energy management, we are poised to deliver new, sustainable connectivity solutions that empower communities, narrow digital divides, and ensure access to vital broadband services, irrespective of local power situations.”

Connecting underserved regions in Africa presents a significant opportunity for growth in global connectivity services. A reliable power supply and robust connectivity is critical for effective implementation and sustained service quality. Miriam Tuerk, CEO of Clear Blue Technologies, emphasised this point: “Eutelsat’s innovative strategy of fusing Smart Power technology with the energy management of its communication systems will provide unmatched service quality at an attractive price point in the market.”
