Cape Verde has become the latest African nation to approve and adopt Starlink’s low-earth orbit satellite internet services.
The announcement was made by Starlink, a subsidiary of Elon Musk’s astronautics company, SpaceX, on the social media platform X.
This follows the approval of the licensing for Starlink operations by the country’s regulatory authority, Agência Reguladora Multissectorial da Economia, in October.
Starlink currently has operations in over 100 countries around the world.
“Cape Verde becomes the 18th African market to introduce Starlink”, said Ryan Goodnight, senior director of global licensing and market activation at SpaceX, in an update on X.
