Experts Unite To Launch New Consultancy For Kids’ Media Intellectual Property

Broadcast Media Africa has learnt that industry veterans Marion Edwards, Jodie Morris and Chris Rose have partnered to launch Creative Sprouts, a consultancy collective offering creative workshops to support kids’ content creators.

The workshops will support kids’ content creators in developing standout IP and engaging audiences in an increasingly fragmented media landscape. Edwards, Morris, and Rose have been involved with the development, production, and distribution of well-known children’s IPs such as Thomas & Friends, Bluey, Mike the Knight, Bing, and Moominvalley.

The Creative Sprouts’ workshops, tailored for each client, are designed to assist independent creators and studios looking to nurture their ideas, deliver a strong pitch and “think smartly” about distribution, discoverability and commercial success. Featuring project & pitch reviews, creative and commercial guidance and time for open forum discussion, Creative Sprouts’ workshops are available in-person and online for animation and live-action content creators from all territories.

Edwards previously worked at HiT Entertainment, Mattel, and Dreamworks. He most recently executive-produced Moominvalley. Morris started her media career at Channel 4 before moving on to senior roles at Beano Studios and Acamar Films, home of Bing. Rose has worked for leading commercial and public service companies, including the BBC, ABC Australia, and HiT Entertainment. Most recently, he was VP of production and development for kids and families at Paramount Global.

The trio said about their new venture: “We’re so excited to work together and share our collective experience and insights. Our industry is rapidly evolving, and content creators often need additional expertise to get their projects off the ground. We believe there is a gap in the market to offer our combined knowledge in a cost and time-effective way. Some brilliant ideas are out there just waiting to reach new audiences, and we can’t wait to play a part in their success.”
