Arabsat Signs Five-Year Deal To Distribute Al Ghad TV HD On BADR-8

Arabsat has signed a five-year agreement with Dubai-based Lime Media Digital Distribution to distribute Al Ghad TV HD on its BADR-8 satellite at 26° East.

The agreement, announced at IBC2026 in Amsterdam, will provide 24/7 satellite carriage for the Arabic news channel through one of the region’s key satellite positions for free-to-air television.

BADR-8’s 26° East position has extensive coverage across the Middle East and North Africa, giving Al Ghad TV access to satellite households across markets stretching from Egypt to Morocco. Arabsat said the agreement forms part of its efforts to expand content distribution across the Middle East and beyond.

The deal reinforces the continued importance of long-term HD satellite capacity agreements at 26° East, where broadcasters and distributors use the orbital position to reach large pan-Arab audiences.

For the wider broadcast market, the agreement also points to continued investment in satellite distribution by Arabic news channels, even as broadcasters increasingly add digital and streaming platforms to their distribution strategies.
