Vodafone is set to launch Vodafone TV, a new all-in-one entertainment platform designed to bring live television, streaming, gaming and music together in a single connected experience.
The service is scheduled to launch in October 2026 and will be available to Vodafone customers with a broadband or mobile plan.
At the centre of the service is a compact plug-in hub supporting 4K picture quality, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, providing customers with a premium home entertainment experience.
Vodafone TV will offer access to Netflix and HBO Max, with customers able to add other streaming services. The platform will also feature Freely, bringing more than 70 live channels and on-demand programming from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 together without requiring a satellite dish or traditional aerial.
Gaming will also form a major part of the offering, with access to more than 300 cloud-based games that can be played on a smartphone or with a Bluetooth controller.
A companion Vodafone TV app will extend the experience beyond the home, allowing viewers to start watching a programme on their television and continue on a mobile device while on the move. Profiles, recommendations, favourites and gameplay will be synchronised across supported devices.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at Vodafone UK, said the platform goes beyond traditional television by bringing together live and on-demand content, streaming, gaming, music and applications in a single entertainment environment.
“Vodafone TV is so much more than TV; it’s a family entertainment platform that brings together live TV, On Demand, streaming, gaming, music, and all the apps on the Google Play Store,” he said.
Technology and telecommunications analyst Paolo Pescatore of PP Foresight described Vodafone TV as a strong example of the direction home entertainment is evolving in, with aggregation and simplicity becoming increasingly important to consumers.
He said the future of streaming is increasingly centred on bringing free-to-air television, premium streaming, entertainment and gaming together in one place, making it easier for audiences to discover and access content across multiple services.
The launch positions Vodafone TV as part of the broader shift toward aggregated, multi-platform entertainment, where traditional broadcasting, streaming, and cloud gaming increasingly converge into a single consumer experience.
