American internet sensation Darren Jason Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, made a highly anticipated stop in Ghana’s capital, Accra, as part of his continental tour, “Speed Does Africa.”

Footage captured last week highlights the vibrant welcome Speed received from traditional leader Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III at the Akropong Palace. Dressed in traditional Kente attire, he was ceremonially named “Barima Kofi Akuffo” in a mark of high honor.

Later, massive crowds gathered at Independence Square, where the young livestreaming star climbed the iconic Black Star Gate, acknowledging his cheering fans in a celebratory moment captured on video.

Launched on December 29, 2025, the Africa Tour spans 20 African countries, including Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, and Namibia, aiming to showcase “what Africa really is” through a mix of live fan interactions, cultural experiences, and high-energy performances. Along the way, Speed has been celebrated with traditional honors, massive public gatherings, and unforgettable moments that highlight both his global popularity and the vibrancy of African culture. The tour reflects his commitment to connecting with fans and promoting the richness and diversity of the continent.

The attached video highlights key moments from his Accra stop, offering viewers a glimpse of the lively crowds, cultural celebrations, and the excitement surrounding Speed’s African journey.
