Watch IT has officially announced the launch of its groundbreaking original series inspired by real events, marking a significant milestone as the first MENA-based streaming service to produce an international series under its own brand. This initiative highlights Watch IT’s commitment to offering high-quality, globally competitive content from the region.

The project is a collaborative effort involving prominent regional and international partners, including AR Content, Big Dreams Entertainment, and Aroma Studios, all orchestrated under the leadership of Tamer Mortada. This new series aims to elevate regional storytelling by employing top-notch production values, as noted by Egypt Today.

Filmed entirely in Egypt, the production showcases large-scale sets, authentic locations, and cutting-edge visual effects, emphasising the country’s capabilities as an emerging hub for international film production.

The series features an accomplished creative team renowned for their expertise in cinematic design, visual effects, and storytelling. It is directed, produced, and co-written by Leslie Greif, whose past works include “The Offer” and “The Hatfields & The McCoys.” It also boasts a diverse international cast, including Joel Kinnaman, Waleed Zuaiter, Dar Salim, Talia Balsam, Matt Barr, Christopher McDonald, and Tom Berenger.

Behind the scenes, the project is backed by a talented crew, including production designer Adrian Curelea and hairstyling artist Giorgiana Gregorini. The screenplay is penned by esteemed writers Daniel Stiepleman, Graham Sack, and Jonathan Wakeham. At the same time, the executive production team features notable industry figures like Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Alexander Rodnyansky, alongside Greif, Mortada, and others.

In a significant development for international distribution, Watch IT has secured an exclusive streaming partnership with HBO. This agreement will see HBO streaming the series worldwide, while Watch IT retains exclusive rights for Egypt and the broader MENA region. This collaboration underscores Watch IT’s mission to enhance regional talent while delivering content that meets international standards.

This upcoming series is a testament to Watch IT Originals’ aspiration to combine Hollywood-level expertise with local creativity, delivering a cinematic experience that resonates throughout the Middle East and beyond.
