Balancing AVOD, SVOD And Hybrid Monetisation Strategies Takes Centre Stage At January 2026 Webinar

As global viewing habits shift from traditional linear television to on-demand and free streaming, broadcasters across Africa and beyond are being challenged to rethink how they monetise content in an increasingly fragmented marketplace. This critical conversation will take centre stage at the upcoming industry webinar on From Spots to Streams: How Broadcasters Can Monetise Across Linear, OTT and FAST Platforms, taking place Online on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.

Unpacking the topic “Balancing AVOD, SVOD, and Hybrid Monetisation Strategies for New Audience Behaviours,” the summit will bring together broadcasting, media and digital executives to explore how evolving consumption patterns are reshaping revenue models — and what this means for sustainable growth across African media markets.

Today’s audiences demand flexibility, personalisation, affordability and convenience. As a result, broadcasters are increasingly deploying a mix of Advertising-Based Video on Demand (AVOD), Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD), and hybrid models that combine both approaches. However, achieving the right balance between these models while protecting content value and maximising revenue remains a complex strategic challenge.

“This summit comes at a defining moment for the broadcast industry,” said Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO and Publisher of Broadcast Media Africa. “Broadcasters are no longer choosing between advertising and subscription — they are learning how to orchestrate both, alongside new FAST and OTT platforms, in ways that respond to new audience behaviours and commercial realities.”

The event will feature expert presentations and panel discussions examining how broadcasters can:

  • Design flexible monetisation frameworks across linear, OTT and FAST platforms
  • Align content strategies with evolving viewer expectations
  • Leverage data and audience insights to optimise revenue streams
  • Develop sustainable hybrid business models for emerging and established markets

With digital adoption accelerating across the continent and global platforms intensifying competition, the summit provides a timely forum for broadcasters to exchange practical insights, case studies and future-focused strategies.

From Spots to Streams is open to broadcasters, content owners, streaming platforms, advertisers, technology providers, and media investors seeking actionable intelligence to navigate the next phase of broadcast monetisation.
