BMA’s Cloud Broadcasting Summit – Africa 2026 To Unpack Regulatory Hurdles And Data Sovereignty

With the digital migration of African media services accelerating, Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) and co-convener, the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), confirmed the paramount importance of regulatory compliance at the upcoming Cloud Broadcasting Summit – Africa 2026, scheduled for 24 – 25 March 2026 in Central Lagos, Nigeria.

The transition to cloud-based content creation, distribution, and archival offers unprecedented efficiency but simultaneously introduces new regulatory complexities. African broadcasters and content owners must navigate evolving national laws concerning consumer data protection, network reliability, and local content promotion while operating within global cloud ecosystems.

This dedicated segment of the Summit will serve as a high-level forum, bringing together key stakeholders from government, regulatory authorities, legal counsel, and technical leadership to address the core conflicts between innovative cloud use and regulatory mandates.

Speaking about the Summit, Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa, said, “As the industry body, we recognise that regulatory uncertainty can stifle technological progress. Our co-convening role ensures that the outcomes of this Summit directly inform future policy recommendations, aiming for a unified, secure, and pro-innovation regulatory framework that serves both the broadcaster and the African audience.”

The Cloud Broadcasting Summit – Africa 2026 is a must-attend event for Chief Executives, Legal Officers, and Technology strategists responsible for ensuring their organisations’ successful and compliant transition to modern cloud broadcast workflows.
