Disney has announced that Disney+ subscribers can now enjoy a dedicated 24/7 channel streaming all 35 seasons of The Simpsons in chronological order.
In addition to the ongoing series, Disney+ offers exclusive episodes, The Simpsons Movie, and themed shorts that incorporate characters from the show, including special content linked to Star Wars and Christmas. Notably, it features new shorts that connect The Simpsons with Fortnite, showcasing gameplay narratives and map updates.
Since the launch of Disney+, the animated series produced by 20th TV Animation has been available on the platform. Earlier this year, Deadline reported that Fox had renewed four series from 20th TV Animation, including The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers, each for an additional four seasons. Furthermore, American Dad! is set to return to the network after an 11-year hiatus, with a four-season renewal.
Last November, Fox secured a US$1.5 billion extension with Hulu, Disney+’s sister streaming service, which runs through 2029. This deal, which includes streaming rights for Fox’s current shows, facilitated a significant multi-series, multi-year renewal agreement with Disney TV Studios for the aforementioned animated series. Hulu and Disney+ remain the exclusive global streaming platforms for the complete library of these shows, which together include around 2,000 episodes, with The Simpsons available on Disney+ in the U.S.. At the same time, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, and American Dad! are accessible via Hulu.
