Somalia’s Ministry of Communications and Technology is collaborating with local telecom providers to enhance service quality and foster public-private partnerships.

Earlier this month, a National Multi-Stakeholder Consultation was held in partnership with the International Telecommunications Union, focusing on the country’s digital transformation strategy for 2025-2030.

At a high-level meeting in Mogadishu, Minister of Communications and Technology Mohamed Adam Moalim met with top executives from the telecom sector. The discussions focused on progress made, current challenges, and the long-term vision for a digitally connected Somalia.

Moalim highlighted the government’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and creating a modern infrastructure that delivers reliable, innovative services to the Somali people.

This meeting is part of a larger initiative aimed at enhancing collaboration between the government and telecommunications companies, accelerating the nation’s digital progress, and strengthening the communications and technology landscape in East Africa.

“Our objective is to position Somalia as a leader in embracing modern technology. We are committed to delivering digital services that improve the lives of our citizens while involving local professionals and experts,” stated Moalim.

Prominent telecom providers in Somalia include Hormuud Telecom, Somtel, Telesom, and Golis Telecom.
