TikTok has launched TikTok for Artists in South Africa, a dedicated platform designed to support musicians, labels, and their teams with valuable data and resources.

This all-in-one insights platform equips artists with the tools to analyse their music’s performance, audience engagement, and fan interaction on TikTok. It is crucial in promoting their work and achieving success on and off the platform.

TikTok for Artists features updated dashboards and in-depth analytics, providing users with transparent and actionable data to inform them about their music’s performance and fan interaction.

Key features of the platform include:

  • Song Performance: Insights into each track’s views, posts, and creator engagement.
  • Post Performance: Detailed statistics on views, likes, comments, shares, and completion rates of posts.
  • Follower Insights: Demographic breakdown of the audience, including gender, age, and language.
  • Guides: Step-by-step instructions for utilising TikTok tools and features.
  • Support Resources: Assistance for building a sustainable music career.

Additionally, it introduces a pre-release tool that allows artists to launch campaigns for upcoming releases and enables fans to pre-save music directly to their preferred streaming services, such as Spotify or Apple Music.

TikTok has evolved into a powerful platform for music discovery, particularly through local songs that drive engagement and create viral sensations.

Recently, the most-saved track in South Africa through the ‘a’d to music app’ ‘eature has been “I” aka (6 am)” “y Ciza, Jazzworx, and Thukuthela, with over 1.2 million video creations in South Africa and more than 2 million globally. Another popular track, “N” ishutheni” “y Goon Flavour, Master KG, and Eemoh, has also achieved notable success with nearly one million creations in South Africa and over six million worldwide.

Everyday users can become storytellers and promoters for artists. By utilising an artist’s sound, they contribute to organic music discovery while providing artists with valuable insights and promotional avenues.

TikTok for Artists is now available to all musicians with a certified TikTok Artist Account. Artists can also provide access to their management and label teams, ensuring their supporters have the necessary insights for executing effective campaigns.
