France Télévisions Wins 2025 EBU Innovation Award With Key Technology

This innovative proof of concept integrates cutting-edge content authenticity standards (C2PA) into newsroom workflows.
This pioneering project empowers audiences to verify the origin and integrity of news content, addressing the growing threat of misinformation and AI-generated deepfakes. By cryptographically signing media and embedding trusted metadata, France Télévisions is setting a new global benchmark for transparency in journalism.

The project centres on three key technical elements: cryptographically signing each piece of content to verify its France Télévisions origin; embedding essential editorial metadata like journalist names and broadcast dates within the C2PA framework; and enabling audiences to verify this information via a custom player on digital platforms.

By embedding authenticity at every step, this initiative boosts trust in media while modernising newsroom workflows for today’s digital challenges. This partnership modernises newsroom operations and strengthens trust between broadcasters and viewers in an era where media authenticity has never been more critical.
