Orange Partner Up To Extend E-Commerce Logistics In Europe And Africa

Orange has extended its partnership with Kuehne+Nagel for an additional three years, focusing on e-commerce operations in France, Poland, and several African markets. This collaboration builds upon a successful two-decade relationship to enhance logistics for high-value e-commerce orders while prioritising security and sustainability.

Kuehne+Nagel is vital in supporting Orange amidst the growing demand for mobile telephony and internet services. Since 2004, their logistics operations at a dedicated fulfilment centre in Paris have expanded significantly. The 22,119-square-meter facility employs around 150 staff members and comprehensively handles Orange’s mobile phones, accessories, and internet devices, covering storage, order fulfilment, shipping, returns, and after-sales support.

Innovative technologies have been deployed to optimise logistics resources to address environmental concerns. For instance, customised packaging solutions minimise waste by ensuring cartons fit products more efficiently, reducing space during shipping.

Lionel Benezech, Supply Chain Director at Orange France, expressed confidence in Kuehne+Nagel’s reliability and flexibility. He noted that their collaboration has allowed Orange to manage increasing order volumes and shorten delivery times—two significant hurdles in the fast-paced e-commerce landscape.

Christophe Vandrome, National Contract Logistics Manager at Kuehne+Nagel France, also emphasised the importance of trust and adaptability in their ongoing partnership. He reiterated their commitment to innovation and improving logistics efficiency, ultimately enhancing the customer experience.

Orange is among the leading telecommunications operators globally, with revenues reaching 40.3 billion in 2024 and a workforce of 127,000, including 71,000 in France. By year-end 2024, Orange reported a customer base of 291 million, comprising 253 million mobile and 22 million fixed broadband subscribers. The company is in 26 countries and offers IT and telecommunication services to multinational businesses through its Orange Business branch.

Kuehne+Nagel operates in nearly 100 countries, employing about 80,000 individuals at around 1,300 locations. The company is a global leader in air and sea logistics, providing comprehensive supply chain solutions to 400,000 customers worldwide.
