Broadcast Media Africa has learnt that Muvi Studios, the production arm of Muvi Cinema, will produce 10 Saudi films over the next 18 months after several production agreements with local companies are signed.

The company announced this at the second edition of the Saudi Film Forum.

The agreements are a part of Muvi Studios’ initiatives to support and empower Saudi talent in the film industry and provide opportunities for cooperation that contribute to bringing their work to the big screen. Among the new partnerships is a contract with Ayman Khoja Production Company to produce three films. The companies had previously successfully collaborated for the film Khawaja Complex.

A partnership was also signed with Dabab Production Company to produce three comedy, horror, and thriller films. A production partnership was also signed with Shabak Production Company and The Talkies.

Speaking at the announcement, Adon Quinn, CEO of Muvi Cinema, said: “At Movie Studios, we aim to empower creative Saudi youth in the field of filmmaking, and we seek to display their productions on cinema screens with the support and guidance of the Ministry of Culture and the Film Commission.”

Quinn stressed that these partnerships represent an important step towards enriching the Saudi cinema scene and providing content that suits the local audience’s taste.
