The organisers of the recent IBC2024 event held at RAI Amsterdam from 13-16 September announced that the event saw a staggering turnout of 45,085 visitors from 170 countries. This gathering brought together the global media, entertainment, and technology community to connect, showcase innovations, address industry challenges, and explore new opportunities.

This year’s event marked a significant growth from the previous year, boasting over 1,350 exhibitors and a sprawling 46,000 square meters of exhibition space. The show floor and theatres were alive with discussions on pivotal trends such as combatting misinformation and fake news. Introducing new show features like the AI Tech Zone and IBC Talent Programme enriched the event’s dynamism.

Michael Crimp, IBC’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and highlighted the positive atmosphere at the event. Major themes at IBC2024 included sustainability, 5G, cloud, esports, immersive experiences, over-the-top (OTT) and streaming, adtech, metaverse, edge computing, and connected technologies.

The IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Programme and the AI Tech Zone, powered by EBU, were major highlights. The event also featured an Audio Visual (AV) buyers’ event and the inaugural IBC Talent Programme, which focused on mentoring the industry’s next generation and the importance of diverse perspectives for driving innovation.

Leading global media technology brands and over 150 new exhibitors showcased their products, further solidifying IBC’s position as an essential incubator of media tech innovation and a vital networking destination.

All the insightful and informative content sessions from IBC2024 will be readily available for viewing, ensuring everyone can access and use the knowledge and lessons from the event.
