Paramount Global Content Distribution has recently announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with MultiChoice, a leading African entertainment company, to establish a Paramount+ branded destination on its platform.

The company has stated that this agreement marks the expansion of its already established traditional licensing relationship with MultiChoice. Paramount’s aim is to further expand the Paramount+ brand worldwide, including making it available as a direct-to-consumer streaming service through bundled partnerships in key markets and branded destinations in local markets via licensing deals.

Currently, branded areas are available through Cosmote in Greece, Streamz in Belgium, Blast TV in the Philippines, and JioCinema in India.

The company stated that the branded destination will provide African audiences with direct access to new and returning television series and feature films and marks the debut of the Paramount+ brand in pan-Africa. MultiChoice viewers can now access world-class content from CBS, Paramount+ Originals, Showtime®, and Paramount Pictures. This new deal will also offer popular films and television series such as Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, Poker Face, Special Ops: Lioness, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Landman, and Survivor.

According to MultiChoice, DStv will now feature a dedicated Paramount+ section in the DStv Stream app and a tile in the Showmax app. The Paramount+ Hub will also be featured in the Showmax app under the other content partners’ section.
