TelCables South Africa has bolstered its network infrastructure to meet escalating data demands – according to a statement from the company. With a surge in network traffic, the company has boosted its bandwidth from 500 Gbps to 800 Gbps, ensuring enhanced performance and seamless connectivity for businesses managing SD-WAN, Cloud, and data traffic.
Mahen Naidu, Head of Business Solutions at TelCables South Africa, underscores the significance of these upgrades: “Our recent network growth necessitated this enhancement, allowing us to better serve our customers’ evolving connectivity needs.”
In addition to the bandwidth expansion, TelCables has strategically deployed new points of presence (PoPs) at N.T.T. Parklands and Xneelo Samrand in Johannesburg, complementing the existing Durban PoP at Teraco Riverhorse DB1 data centre. These additions enable TelCables to offer 100GE capabilities via key data centres like Teraco JB1 in Johannesburg, Teraco CT1 in Cape Town, and Teraco DB1, facilitating expanded network reach and enhanced traffic management flexibility.
TelCables leverages a global subsea network to optimise routing options within the Angola Cables ecosystem. This capability is particularly crucial for customers requiring reliable redundancy solutions in the face of cable disruptions in regions like the Red Sea. It strengthens its offering by providing efficient I.P. traffic transit across Africa and beyond.
Naidu affirms, “These upgrades position us to handle increased traffic volumes while delivering superior routing options to international markets in Latin America, the U.S.A., and Europe. It’s pivotal in enhancing our service delivery for current and prospective customers.”
