Amazon Prime Video Set To Introduce Ads From 29 January

Amazon Prime Video has recently announced that it will start featuring advertisements on its platform starting 29 January. The ads will be limited and shown during movies and TV shows.

Amazon stated that this move is aimed at sustaining investments in creating more compelling content and ensuring a gradual increase in such investments over a longer period. The company also emphasized that there will be significantly fewer ads compared to traditional TV and other streaming providers.

Though Amazon had previously informed about the introduction of ads in September, a specific date had not been provided until now. The ads will initially launch in countries like the US, UK, Germany, and Canada, with other markets, including France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Australia, expected to follow suit later in the year.

Moreover, Amazon Prime has appointed Jeremy Helfand as the new Vice President and Head of Advertising for Prime Video. Helfand, who previously worked at Hulu and oversaw advertising innovation across Disney’s interactive businesses, announced his new role in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.
