The Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival has selected “I Promise You Paradise” (Eissa), a short film directed by Morad Mostafa from Egypt, for its 2024 edition.
The festival is scheduled to take place in France from February 2 to 10, 2024. The film is a joint production of Bonanza Films, Red Star, Sea Cinema, Shift Studios, and Film Clinic, with producers Sawsan Youssef and Margot Laurier.
It stars Kenyi Marcellino and Kenzi Mohamed and tells the story of Eissa, a young African migrant living illegally in Egypt who must race against time to save his loved ones.
“I Promise You Paradise” premiered at the 2023 Cairo International Film Festival and was the first Egyptian film to receive the Rail d’Or Award at the Critics Week of the Cannes Film Festival in the same year. H264 is handling the film’s international distribution.
