Nigeria: Umaru Pate And Christabel Iyanya Announced As President And VP Of The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB)

In Nigeria, the Managing Director of Joy FM Otukpo, Mrs. Christabel Ebugo Ogli Iyanya, has been elected the first National Vice President of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB).

Professor Umaru Pate, the pioneer president of SNB, was elected to lead the organisation. He and other broadcasters were elected to serve as zonal officers. Professor Pate’s commitment to implementing policies that benefit and uphold the integrity of broadcasters in Nigeria was emphasised, and he called for support from the broadcasting community.

Mrs. Iyanya expressed her gratitude and pledged to lead the Society with integrity. She also promised to promote the interests of broadcasters in Benue and Nigeria, particularly focusing on empowering women in the industry.

Mrs. Iyanya’s appointment as the Managing Director of Joy FM in 2006 marked a significant milestone in Nigerian broadcasting. She became the first to lead a private radio station in Nigeria’s North Central region. Her leadership and achievements, including [specific achievements], have earned her recognition and respect among Nigerian broadcasters.
