Kenya: Content Creators To Start Earning On TikTok

Broadcast Media Africa has learned that TikTok has introduced its advertising platform in Kenya, a crucial move in its endeavour to expand monetisation in Africa.

Although not all business accounts currently have access to these advertising options, this development reflects the platform’s active efforts toward a full launch of its ad platform in Kenya.

Kenya is among the first countries in Africa to gain entry to TikTok’s advertising platform, sparking hope for the growth of digital marketing, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The new feature allows any business account on TikTok that complies with the platform’s advertising guidelines to run ads. This accessibility means that even small businesses with limited marketing budgets can take advantage of TikTok’s extensive reach and connect with their target audience through creative and captivating short video ads.

Brands such as Infinix, Itel, Tecno, Oraimo, MESH, and Glovo are among the few businesses running ads on TikTok in Kenya. According to experts, introducing TikTok’s advertising platform benefits businesses and presents significant potential for content creators, contributing to a sustainable creator economy in the country.
