The Senegalese Space Study Agency (ASES) have agreed to collaborate with SatNav Africa Joint Programme Office (JPO) to unlock the power of space technology in Africa.

According to a statement posted on the Space in Africa website, ASES and SatNav Africa JPO, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create a comprehensive framework for collaboration in satellite navigation and space applications.

The MoU focuses on fostering innovative business clusters in Senegal and across Africa,” reads part of the statement.

The SatNav Africa JPO, a key player in promoting satellite navigation (GNSS/SBAS) services in Africa, is leading the way with European solutions such as EGNOS and Galileo.

Following the signing of the MoU, the two parties wasted no time in outlining a detailed roadmap for their short-to-medium-term initiatives, providing a clear direction for their future endeavours.

The statement continues, “These initiatives underscore the commitment of both parties to advance satellite navigation technology and space applications, promoting socio-economic development and technological innovation in Senegal and throughout Africa.”
