Tuned Global, a music technology provider specialising in licensed music experiences, has partnered with Leel Phone to provide the technology infrastructure for Leel Music, a new music streaming service being developed for the company’s child-first smartphone ecosystem.
The partnership reflects a broader shift among technology companies from simply adding safety features to smartphones towards creating complete digital environments that bring together communication, entertainment and educational services within controlled ecosystems. These platforms are designed to give parents greater oversight while providing children with age-appropriate digital experiences.
Music is becoming an increasingly important component of these ecosystems. However, services designed specifically for children face requirements that differ from mainstream streaming platforms. Content must be carefully curated, age-appropriate and compliant with territorial rights, while operators require greater control over catalogues, metadata, editorial workflows and content safeguards.
Leel Music will form part of Leel Phone’s closed digital ecosystem, where parents can manage their children’s access to digital content. The service will sit alongside features including secure communications, parental controls, age-appropriate video and games.
Tuned Global will provide the underlying technology through its Music Cloud Platform, including white-label music applications, a content management system, APIs, metadata services, explicit-content controls and rights-aware infrastructure.
The technology will enable Leel Phone to manage catalogue operations, territory-specific availability, metadata and integrations, while supporting editorial workflows and content controls throughout playlist creation and management.
Leel Phone will remain responsible for securing music licences and determining the editorial direction of Leel Music, while Tuned Global will provide the technology infrastructure required to operate the service across multiple markets.
The initial version of Leel Music is expected to centre on a playlist-based listening experience, giving children access to curated collections while allowing Leel Phone to maintain control over content selection and presentation.
The service is expected to offer access to a broad licensed catalogue, organised into family-friendly playlists selected specifically for Leel Phone’s young audience.
Con Raso, Founder and Managing Director of Tuned Global, said the partnership demonstrates the growing role of licensed music within specialised digital products and reflects an evolution in how children’s technology companies approach digital entertainment.
“Kids’ technology companies are no longer simply building safer devices. They’re building complete digital ecosystems that children genuinely want to use, and parents can confidently trust,” Raso said.
He added that delivering music responsibly to young audiences requires more than simply integrating a streaming player, highlighting the importance of licensing models, content management, metadata, editorial controls and rights-aware infrastructure.
“We’re proud to support Leel Phone with our Music Cloud Platform as it brings a safe, curated music experience into its child-first ecosystem and shows what’s possible when safety, technology and entertainment are designed together,” he said.
Natalie Antoshchuk, Chief Marketing Officer at Leel Phone, said the partnership demonstrates how specialised music infrastructure can help emerging digital platforms deliver richer entertainment experiences while maintaining the safety, control and trust expected by parents.
“Music is an important part of the experience we want to create for children, but it has to meet the same standards of safety and trust as every other part of the Leel ecosystem,” Antoshchuk said.
She added that Tuned Global was selected for its understanding of the specific requirements involved in developing music experiences for children, including catalogue management, content controls and scalable music infrastructure.
“Their Music Cloud Platform gives us the flexibility to introduce Leel Music in a carefully curated way today, while creating a future-proof foundation for our music experience to continue evolving as the Leel ecosystem grows,” she said.
Leel Music is expected to launch in Q4 2026, initially targeting the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
The partnership also forms part of Tuned Global’s broader expansion across the EMEA region. Earlier in 2026, the company appointed Mario Forsyth as Vice President and Head of Commercial EMEA to support businesses across the region developing licensed music and audio services.
The collaboration with Leel Phone highlights how licensed music technology is increasingly being deployed beyond conventional streaming platforms. As specialised digital ecosystems emerge around specific audiences and use cases, music infrastructure providers are playing a growing role in enabling companies to deliver tailored, controlled and rights-compliant entertainment experiences.
