Radio Jambo has strengthened its position as one of Kenya’s leading radio stations, emerging as the most listened-to Swahili-language station in Nairobi, according to the GeoPoll Kenya Radio Audience Survey for July 2026.

The station recorded an 11.45% audience share in Nairobi, narrowly ahead of Citizen Radio, which posted 11.02%. Radio Maisha ranked third with an 8.41% share, followed by Milele FM at 5.11% and Radio 47 at 0.57%.

Radio Jambo’s performance also extended to the national market, where the station recorded a cumulative audience of 16.02 million listeners. This represents an increase of approximately 2 million listeners compared with the previous poll, highlighting continued growth in its national reach.

Despite this growth, Radio Jambo ranked second nationally behind Citizen, which led the survey with 19.68 million listeners. Classic 105 followed in third place with 15.61 million listeners.

Radio Maisha ranked fourth nationally with 14.93 million listeners, while Milele FM recorded 10.85 million. Other leading stations included KBC English Service with 9.55 million listeners, Kiss FM with 9.47 million, Kameme with 9.04 million, Radio 47 with 8.98 million and Radio Taifa with 8.09 million.

The latest figures reinforce Radio Jambo’s position as a major player in Kenya’s radio market, with its growing audience highlighting the continued strength of Swahili-language broadcasting and audience-driven radio programming.

Radio Jambo, part of the Radio Africa Group, is known for its Swahili-language programming spanning news, sports, talk shows and interactive discussions, helping the station maintain a strong connection with listeners across Kenya.
