Cairo, Egypt – The 46th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) opened on Wednesday, bringing together Egyptian cinema icons and international filmmakers for a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and culture. The festival, running from 12–21 November, is themed ‘Human First’ and underscores Egypt’s role as a cultural leader in the Arab world, Africa, and beyond.

The attached video captures the glamour of the red carpet at the Cairo Opera House, featuring stars such as Lebleba, Hussein Fahmy, and Khaled El Sawy, alongside filmmakers and content creators from across the globe. Footage shows the Alexandra River Creature Series installations adorning the venue, as well as festival highlights, including interviews with key participants.

The film festival has economic and artistic impact, showcasing Egypt’s civilisation, modernity, and creative energy. International filmmakers, including Amanda Turnbull of Rise Studios, are increasingly embracing Arabic culture in their upcoming projects, blending regional stories, traditions, and perspectives with global cinematic techniques.

As one of only 15 Category A festivals recognised by FIAPF, CIFF continues to offer a platform for cultural exchange, artistic innovation, and cinematic excellence.
