Nigeria: MultiChoice Slashes Decoder Prices Ahead Of Festive Season

MultiChoice has announced an additional price cut on its decoders, reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable premium entertainment for households in Nigeria.

With this latest update, the price of a DStv decoder is now US$5.49, while the GOtv decoder is available for US$4.52. The DStv dish will now retail at US$6.95, with the GOtenna priced at US$2.43. This recent price reduction follows a significant drop in June 2025, when the cost of a DStv decoder was slashed by 50% from US$13.90 to US$6.95, and the GOtv decoder decreased from US$12.93 to US$6.88 as part of the company’s “We’ve Got You” campaign.

MultiChoice explained that this initiative aims to reward both new and existing customers, enhancing the accessibility of its products. The new prices will take effect on November 1, 2025, coinciding with the start of the company’s Festive Campaign.

Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice, commented on the development, stating that it highlights the company’s mission to ensure entertainment is within reach for all Nigerians.

“As the festive season approaches, family gatherings and celebrations become increasingly important. What better way to enjoy these moments than by sharing quality entertainment with loved ones? This price reduction allows more families to experience top-tier local and international content without straining their budgets. At MultiChoice, we are committed to making world-class storytelling accessible to every household,” he said.

During the festive period, MultiChoice plans to present a diverse range of children’s programming, international films, and local productions, including The Low Priest, Mother of the Brides, and Etiti, on its DStv and GOtv platforms. Additionally, sports enthusiasts can look forward to exciting football matches from the Premier League, Ligue 1, La Liga, Serie A, and the AFCON, all available on SuperSport channels.
