ZTE Corporation and MTN Uganda recently celebrated a decade of successful collaboration in Managed Services, a partnership that has significantly transformed Uganda’s telecommunications landscape.
The milestone was marked by a renewed dedication to enhancing cooperation through AI-driven solutions designed to improve customer experiences, deliver intelligent broadband services, and automate networks, thereby fostering a more connected and inclusive Uganda.
The anniversary event, held in Kampala, brought together senior leaders and executives from both companies to reflect on their ten-year journey, marked by progress in network innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Over the last ten years, ZTE and MTN Uganda have developed what ZTE refers to as “one of the region’s most advanced, reliable, and future-ready telecom networks.” This collaboration has significantly extended the national network’s reach, improved performance, and enhanced the user experience, helping MTN Uganda maintain its position as the top performer in Net Promoter Scores within the MTN Group.
A key achievement of this partnership was the establishment of MTN Uganda’s first Service Operations Centre (SOC).
“The SOC has revolutionised network management, enabling smarter, faster, and more proactive operations, earning the trust of millions of users,” the company stated in a LinkedIn announcement.
Equipped with advanced analytics and automation, the SOC empowers MTN Uganda to promptly identify and resolve network issues, subsequently enhancing operational efficiency and service reliability.
During the event, ZTE also acknowledged the dedicated teams that have contributed to the partnership’s success.
“We want to extend special recognition to the committed ZTE Uganda team, directed by CEO Wang Lou and DCEO Yuan Yuzhan, whose steadfast dedication has been crucial to our shared accomplishments,” the company emphasised.
As they embark on the next chapter of their partnership, ZTE reaffirmed its pledge to continue strengthening its alliance with MTN Uganda by leveraging AI-powered solutions for intelligent broadband and autonomous networks.
“ZTE will persist as MTN Uganda’s trusted partner in realising a fully connected, intelligent, and inclusive Uganda,” the company stated.
ZTE also highlighted that, as Uganda accelerates its digital transformation journey, this decade-long partnership exemplifies how global technology leaders and local telecom operators can collaboratively drive innovation and inclusivity in Africa’s dynamic digital landscape.
