This year’s Awards will be presented in conjunction with the Broadcasters Convention – Southern Africa 2025, under the theme “Content, Connectivity, Collaboration – Transforming Africa’s Broadcast Media Landscape In AI Era,” reflecting the industry’s commitment to innovation, creativity, and meaningful storytelling in a rapidly evolving media environment.

The Awards will recognise outstanding achievements in television, radio, digital media, and content creation. They will provide a platform to honour the individuals, organisations, and initiatives that are setting new standards of excellence and contributing to the growth and sustainability of broadcasting in Southern Africa.

Award categories for 2025 include:

  • Media Executive of the Year – Male/Female
  • Best Local Content Range On TV
  • Best Local Content Range On Radio
  • Best OTT/Streaming
  • Satellite Operator of the Year
  • SABA Evergreen / Special Recognition Award

Nominations are open to broadcasters, production companies, media organisations, and individual practitioners within the Southern African region.

All entries must be received by 23 September 2025. Full eligibility requirements and category details are available on the website.

The winners will be announced during the prestigious Broadcast Media Awards Ceremony, scheduled for 29 October 2025 at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe. The ceremony will bring together senior leaders, innovators, and key stakeholders from across the broadcasting sector.

“This year’s theme highlights the transformative role of broadcasting in connecting audiences, shaping public discourse, and driving cultural and economic development,” said Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO & Publisher of Broadcast Media Africa. “We invite all industry stakeholders to submit nominations and join us in recognising those leading the way.”

The Broadcast Media Awards celebrate excellence in broadcasting and media across Southern Africa. With categories spanning content, platforms, and individual achievement, the Awards honour creativity, innovation, and impact—spotlighting established leaders and emerging voices.
