TVC News Ushers In Nigeria’s First AI-Driven News Presenters

In a dramatic turn of events that reshaped Nigeria’s media landscape, TVC News introduced the nation’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) news anchors—a revolutionary innovation unveiled in May 2025.

The AI anchors will deliver news bulletins in five languages: English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and Pidgin, marking TVC’s emphasis on technological innovation and cultural diversity. Interestingly, the innovator was clear that the breakthrough was not about surpassing reporters but making the newsroom efficient. “This is a leap forward in bringing the news to the audience,” commented TVC Communications CEO Victoria Ajayi. “Our AI news presenters illustrate that we believe technology can help evolve us, but doing so does not compromise our man-driven editorial ethic.”

Ajayi assured audiences that editors will thoroughly review every AI-written report. “We have trained staff of journalists and editors checking each piece of content to ensure that it is fair, accurate, and honest,” she stated. TVC News also implemented strict safeguards, including watermarking and authentication systems, to prevent misuse of AI technology. The company reaffirmed its commitment to the Nigerian Broadcasting Code and its ongoing commitment to ethical journalism.

By launching Africa’s first AI-based news anchors, TVC News becomes a pioneer in the media industry on the continent, setting high standards for innovation and ethical AI adoption.
