Ethiopia: Safaricom Appoints Andualem Admassie As Chief External Affairs Officer

Safaricom Ethiopia has appointed Dr Andualem Admassie as its new Chief External Affairs Officer. With a distinguished background in telecommunications and technology, Dr Andualem will bring extensive experience to the Safaricom Ethiopia team.

Before joining Safaricom Ethiopia, he co-founded and served as CEO of a telecom company in South Sudan. He has also held positions as Director General at the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Education and Training Authority. He was CEO and founder of Funaton Consulting Group (FCG), where he spearheaded numerous successful initiatives.
Dr Andualem has also served as a university lecturer both locally and internationally.

“This is a significant step for us as we focus on enhancing our local leadership,” said Wim Vanhelleputte, CEO of Safaricom Ethiopia.

Dr Andualem is an experienced management and leadership professional who has worked in various C-Level positions, including Ethio Telecom as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Chief Internal Audit Officer (CIAO), Senior Project Coordinator (Audit), Director General.

He is also well experienced working with multinational companies like Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE, McKinsey, KPMG, CGCOC, Lockheed Martin(US), France Telecom(Orange), Sofrecom, GIZ, Jhpiego, NEC(Japan), Oracle, Microsoft, etc.
