LaLiga Expands Broadcast Reach With New DAZN And SportyNet Deals

LaLiga is expanding its international broadcast footprint after agreeing to new deals with sports streaming platform DAZN in Sub-Saharan Africa and SportyNet in Brazil.

The agreement with DAZN covers the next three seasons, running through to the end of the 2028-29 campaign. Across Sub-Saharan Africa, subscribers will be able to watch all 380 LaLiga matches each season, both live and on demand.

The deal covers 48 markets across the region and goes beyond live match coverage. DAZN users will also have access to highlights, archive footage, weekly programmes and behind-the-scenes content. Matches will be available with both English and Spanish commentary.

The partnership also gives LaLiga another opportunity to connect with football fans in a region that has strong links to Spanish football. Several players from Sub-Saharan Africa currently feature in the competition, including Ivory Coast’s Yan Diomande, Senegal’s Pape Gueye, Ivorian Nicolas Pepe and Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas said the new agreement would make it easier for fans across the region to follow the competition while strengthening the league’s relationship with DAZN.

The two organisations already have a long-standing partnership, with DAZN holding LaLiga rights in several international markets, including Spain, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France.

In Brazil, LaLiga has signed a separate deal with SportyNet through a sublicensing arrangement with sports marketing agency LiveMode. Unlike the three-season DAZN agreement, the Brazilian deal covers the current campaign.

SportyNet will show 76 LaLiga matches this season, with games available through pay television as well as free on YouTube. The matches will also be streamed through SportyNet’s official app, which is due to launch soon.

The platform will show two matches per round, featuring clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, Sevilla, Valencia, Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad and Villarreal.

LaLiga has a particularly strong connection with Brazilian football fans, given the number of Brazilian internationals playing in Spain. Real Madrid’s squad includes Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Endrick and Eder Militao, while Raphinha represents Barcelona.

For SportyNet, adding LaLiga strengthens an already growing football offering. The platform also holds rights to competitions including Germany’s Bundesliga, Italy’s Serie A, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.

With both deals, LaLiga is continuing to broaden how fans can access its matches, combining traditional television with streaming and free-to-view platforms in two important international markets.
