Wedotv and Amtecco have unveiled a strategic partnership to enhance end-to-end FAST, HbbTV, and IP distribution services for the global broadcasting and streaming sectors. This collaboration represents a significant advancement in streamlining content delivery across both digital and traditional platforms.
Motorvision Group has become the inaugural client to leverage the comprehensive services package arising from this partnership. Their “More Than Sports” free-to-air channel is already accessible through SES Astra 19.2 via HbbTV URR.
The alliance harnesses the strengths of both companies to provide a fully integrated operational and technical infrastructure for FAST and HbbTV services. The unified solution encompasses the entire content delivery process, including SRT contribution, IP transport, channel origination, platform distribution, HbbTV deployment, FAST-on-HbbTV integration, CDN services, and monetisation. This service is tailored for broadcasters, content owners, rights holders, and platform operators across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and other international markets serviced by both partners.
Philipp Rotermund, CEO of wedotv, remarked, “Content owners and broadcasters are eager to engage with FAST and HbbTV, seeking a partner who can deliver both aspects without the burden of coordinating multiple vendors. Operating this integrated approach daily, we are effectively extending our capabilities to the industry.”
David Chen, founder and CEO of Amtecco, noted, “FAST and HbbTV have been regarded as distinct sectors for too long, with the costs of that separation falling on broadcasters. Our collaboration with Wedotv has demonstrated that the IP and broadcast domains can operate seamlessly within the same infrastructure. This successful approach will now be available to other industry players.”
According to the agreement, wedotv will be responsible for channel operations, platform distribution across Smart TVs, HbbTV, and OTT services, along with advertising monetisation. Meanwhile, Amtecco will oversee the technical infrastructure, including SRT cloud transport, HbbTV systems, FAST-on-HbbTV deployment, CDN management, and automation. Both companies disclosed that the unified platform has been operational in live production since 2022, prior to its official launch as a commercial offering.
Raimund Koehler, CEO of Motorvision Group, expressed, “The solutions provided by wedotv and Amtecco empower us to gain deeper insights into our audiences beyond traditional panel-based measurement methods. Additionally, our agency partners will benefit from programmatic access to our complete inventory. This integrated distribution and monetisation approach will enable us to obtain much finer audience data while significantly enhancing our advertising revenue.”
Rotermund and Chen are scheduled to present this collaborative offering at ANGA COM 2026 in Cologne from May 19 to 21, where they will engage with broadcasters, platform operators, and content owners interested in the innovative service.
