Wedotv, the international free ad-supported streaming network, has enhanced its presence on the VIDAA smart-TV platform by launching its revamped direct-to-consumer AVOD app. This update includes the new FAST channel, wedotv: Legacy, and the auto-sports FAST channel, wedotv: AUTA. This development was shared by Wedotv co-CEOs, Philipp Rotermund and Chris Sharp.

The upgraded Wedotv AVOD app features a more user-friendly navigation interface and a broader selection of Live TV channels. It is now available across all VIDAA-powered Hisense devices worldwide. The app allows viewers to easily explore a wide variety of AVOD (Ad-supported Video on Demand) titles, including those available on wedotv’s FAST channels such as wedotv movies, wedotv BIG stories, wedotv sports, wedotv amor, and time2Rlx. Additionally, users can enjoy an extended range of free Live TV channels, including EuroNews, SpiegelTV Geschichte, DFB Play (Deutsche Fussball-Bund), and content from FIFA, Banijay, A&E, and more.

Philipp Rotermund, co-CEO of wedotv, emphasised the significance of a user-friendly viewing experience: “Ensuring consumers have a smooth and enjoyable experience is a core focus in our industry. At Wedotv, we strive to make content discovery effortless, intuitive, and enjoyable. Our partnership with VIDAA will open up access to even more viewers, allowing them to experience the convenience of the wedotv app,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Wedotv has introduced the Wedotv: Legacy FAST channel, which is now accessible on VIDAA in the UK, US, and Canada. Created in collaboration with ZDF Studios, this channel features the award-winning South African series, Legacy, with wedotv overseeing its global distribution. In Poland, VIDAA has also launched the auto-sports FAST channel, wedotv: AUTA, showcasing auto sports and content from popular YouTubers in partnership with Motorvision.

The VIDAA operating system is currently installed on roughly 40 million devices globally. Hisense incorporates VIDAA not only in its own smart TVs but also in brands it owns, including Toshiba. According to the Connected TV Marketing Association, VIDAA accounts for 7.7% of the world’s smart TVs, making it the second most widespread operating system after Samsung Tizen, which holds 12.8%.
