EbonyLife Group has launched its enhanced digital service, now featuring a variety of original programming, including a show directed by Idris Elba.

EbonyLife On Plus offers a comprehensive array of entertainment, fashion, educational content, and live experiences. Founder Mo Abudu describes it as “a complete lifestyle ecosystem.”

Subscribers can enjoy masterclasses, purchase African fashion and art, and participate in live events, all available worldwide.

Highlighting the lineup is the drama Dust to Dreams, helmed by Elba and portrayed as “a soulful tale of love, legacy, and redemption set in the vibrant city of Lagos.” Alongside it is Dust to Dreams: Behind the Scenes, a documentary directed by Isioma Osaje that delves into the film’s creative process.

Other notable shows include Her Perfect Life and Iyawo Mi, both crafted by Mo Abudu. At the same time, the thriller Baby Farm, focusing on human trafficking in Lagos, will be accessible outside Africa.

On the film side, the Nollywood family drama Ajosepo, directed by Kayode Kasum, premiered in theatres last year. Additionally, Black, Brilliant & Bold highlights remarkable Black women who inspire and lead.

Abudu emphasised that the service’s goal is to “put African stories back in African hands.” She further remarked, “We pride ourselves on being more than a streaming platform. This is a space that celebrates every aspect of African creativity, from the narratives we share to the ways we live, learn, and connect.”

EbonyLife has a rich history of producing TV series and films, including Castle & Castle, The Governor, Sons of the Caliphate, and Chief Daddy, as well as Netflix collaborations such as Blood Sisters and Elesin Oba: The King’s Horseman.
