Exploring AI’s Transformation On Broadcast Content Publishing In Africa At Industry Convention In Lagos, Nigeria – August 2025

As AI technologies revolutionise content creation, audience engagement, and distribution models globally, the African broadcast industry faces unique challenges and opportunities in adapting to this new landscape.

Across the continent, many broadcasters are still grappling with infrastructural limitations, skills gaps, and policy uncertainty around AI deployment.

Concerns about data privacy, job displacement, content authenticity, and the protection of local creative industries remain at the forefront. At the same time, AI-powered tools offer broadcasters and publishers unprecedented potential to personalise content, enhance accessibility, automate workflows, and gain insights into audience behaviours.

The Broadcasters Convention – West Africa 2025 will offer a platform to dissect these challenges, spotlight innovative African-led solutions, and foster regional collaboration to build a more adaptive and resilient broadcast ecosystem.

“Artificial Intelligence has arrived at our doorstep, and for the African broadcast and digital media sector, it brings both tremendous promise and pressing questions,” said Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa. “The Convention will be a timely and strategic gathering where industry players can demystify AI, understand its real implications, and work together on pathways that empower African creators, protect our cultural narratives, and drive sustainable digital innovation.”

According to the conveners, the much-anticipated Broadcasting and Digital Media Convention—West Africa 2025 will be held from 6 to 7 August 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria, under the compelling theme “Broadcasting And Content Publishing In The AI-Infused Digital Ecosystem.”

Convened by Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) in collaboration with the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON), this industry-shaping event will bring together top-level professionals, policymakers, technology providers, and content producers from across the region and beyond.

Registration for the Convention is now open. Visit our website here.
