As the OTT (Over-the-Top) streaming industry continues to expand across Africa, one of the most pressing challenges for service providers and consumers alike is optimising subscription pricing and payment solutions. With diverse economic conditions, regional disparities, and varying levels of internet penetration, the need for innovative pricing models and payment systems has never been greater.

At the upcoming OTT Streaming Summit – Africa 2025, industry leaders will delve into the nuances of subscription models and payment solutions that can drive growth while ensuring accessibility for all. The summit, taking place from 18-19 February 2025 at The Capital 15 On Orange in Cape Town, South Africa, will bring together key players from the OTT ecosystem to discuss the future of streaming services on the continent.

Mr. Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa, expressed the significance of pricing and payment solution innovation for the OTT sector’s future and said, “For OTT platforms to thrive in Africa, they must take a nuanced approach to pricing and payments. Understanding the diversity in consumer behaviour, economic conditions, and access to digital services is essential. The innovative models emerging across the continent are key to making premium content accessible to the broadest possible audience while maintaining profitability. We must remain agile and responsive to the unique needs of African consumers.”

At the OTT Streaming Summit – Africa 2025, thought leaders, tech innovators, and service providers will work to establish a path forward for the sector. The summit will be a critical platform for exchanging ideas on the future of OTT pricing, payment systems, and the digital economy in Africa.
