Broadcast Media Africa has learnt that DAAR Communications Plc has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) for the exclusive host broadcasting rights of the 2nd Africa Military Games (AMGA), scheduled to take place in Abuja from November 18 to 30, 2024.

In a statement, the chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi Jr., noted that the agreement, signed on October 14, 2024, outlines DAAR’s role in providing comprehensive coverage of the military sports event. Key aspects include:

He emphasised that, as part of the Exclusive Broadcasting Rights, DAAR Communications will be responsible for producing, transmitting, and distributing the AMGA’s TV and online broadcasts.

He further stated that Extensive Coverage will include live broadcasts of the opening and closing ceremonies, daily highlights, and coverage of 19 sports events.

Dokpesi Jr also stressed that DAAR will spearhead Promotional Initiatives, creating engaging promotional content to boost audience participation.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff, the OSMA President, and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman, Dokpesi Jr. said, “This partnership marks a significant commitment to showcasing the talents of our armed forces and promoting unity through sports.”

He also emphasised the vote of confidence placed in Nigerian broadcasters and highlighted DAAR’s collaboration with partner broadcasters to ensure the best coverage of the games.
