The Zambian government is taking significant steps towards achieving its goal of providing 96% broadband access to its citizens by the end of this year. In the northern province of Muchinga, the construction of a 65-meter-high communication tower has begun, which marks a major milestone in accomplishing this target.

The tower will be situated in the Chikala community, and Felix Mutati, the Minister of Technology and Science, officiated the groundbreaking ceremony.

The minister expressed that the government is committed to ensuring that every part of the country achieves the 96% connectivity target. The residents of Chikakala will no longer have to climb anthills in search of mobile phone networks to make and receive calls.

Additionally, the government has purchased 200 computers for a local primary school to enhance information technology teaching and learning activities. This initiative aims to improve the quality of education in the country.
