Play Network Africa has recently announced the appointment of Arafat Bello-Osagie as the new CEO of Play Network Studios. Arafat is a skilled Nigerian lawyer with a vast experience in corporate legal strategy, brand differentiation, corporate negotiations, functional management, and business operations. Her unwavering commitment to the Play Network’s objectives as Head of Strategy and Operations has led her to be selected as the new CEO.

Arafat has demonstrated exceptional creative skills as she has conceptualized and led the production of several titles at the Play Network Studios, including the record-breaking Glamour Girls, the yet-to-be-released Pan-African title Skeleton Coast, the true-life story of the 1993 hijack of a Nigerian Airways flight Hijack93, and the recently released Netflix Original Title Blood Vessel, which was listed as number one in the Netflix Non-English category for two weeks in a row, making it the first and only Nigerian title to achieve this feat.

As the new CEO, Arafat will oversee the executive and creative affairs of Play Network Studios and lead the company’s efforts in harnessing new and emerging talent within Nigeria’s Nollywood. The Board of Directors has full confidence in her ability to fit into the company’s innovative and audacious project execution style, which she has already demonstrated through her work at the company.

Arafat holds an LLB Law Degree from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a Master of Arts Degree from Hult International Business School, where she qualified as a Master of International Business. She is passionate about promoting the arts, gender inclusion, and individualistic reasoning. She sits on the board of the Play Network Foundation, where she contributes to society through the provision of social and corporate education, mentorship, and financial aid.
