Nollywood’s latest romantic comedy, Dead Serious, is now exclusively streaming on Showmax. Directed by the talented Moses Inwang, this film stars Sharon Ooja, Sabinus, and Deyemi Okalanwon, among other notable actors.

The story follows John (Sabinus), the owner of a grocery store in Lagos, as he falls head over heels for the lovely Amara (Sharon Ooja). Despite the doubts of his sister Vero (Tomama) and friend Pato (NasBoi), John is determined to win Amara’s heart with his wit and charm.

Executive Head of Content and Channels West Africa at MultiChoice, Dr. Busola Tejumola, expressed her excitement about the film, saying, “At Showmax, we’re committed to providing the best entertainment experiences for our subscribers. Teaming up with leading filmmaker Moses Inwang and sought-after stars to bring Dead Serious exclusively to our platform aligns with our mission to offer diverse and compelling content. It also ensures a seamless blend of creativity and talent in delivering this heartfelt comedy.”

In addition to the talented cast, Dead Serious features award-winning director Moses Inwang. His impressive track record in the film industry includes several accolades, such as the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards (GIAMA) in 2014 and 2015, the Zulu African Film Academy Awards in 2016, Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2018, and The People’s Film Festival in 2020.

As the film debuts exclusively on Showmax, viewers can expect an unforgettable romantic comedy with plenty of emotional moments. Join the conversation on social media by following Showmax Nigeria and using the hashtag #DeadSeriousShowmax.
