An Egyptian football drama, El Hareefa, directed by Raouf El Sayed and featuring Nour El Nabawy in his debut lead role, has become a huge success at the Egyptian box office, earning over US$$1.2 million since its release on 4th January 2024.

The film has garnered a lot of attention from audiences across Egypt thanks to its talented cast, engaging dialogues, and themes that revolve around unwavering ambition and camaraderie.

El Hareefa follows the story of Maged, a football player who finds himself between two different worlds- the upper class he once belonged to and the lower class he has embraced due to changing circumstances. The movie showcases Maged’s journey as he collides with his friends, who are professional football players.

Nour El Nabawy makes his debut in acting alongside former professional footballer Ahmed Hossam Mido, Nour Ehab, Ahmed Ghozzi, Youssef Omar, Mahraganat singer Kozbara, Khaled Zahabi, and Selim El Turk.

El Nabawy is known for his success in television drama, and his recent works include the Ramadan 2022 social drama Rageen Ya Hawa, a big hit during the season. Apart from El Hareefa, he also appeared in the Ramadan 2023 drama Elaghar and made a guest appearance in the epic military drama El Kateeba 101, starring alongside Asser Yassin and Amr Youssef.

Apart from his entertainment pursuits, Nour El Nabawy has also been appointed as the ambassador of the Shabab Balad (The Country’s Youths) Initiative by UNICEF, an Egyptian adaptation of the International Generation Unlimited Initiative launched by the UN in the region last year. This marks his commitment to empowering and uplifting the youth in the country.
