The digital broadcasting and media landscape in East Africa has been undergoing significant transformation. In light of this, stakeholders from across the region and the world will converge in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the Broadcast And Digital Media Convention – East Africa, from May 7th – 8th, 2024.

East Africa is witnessing a notable shift from traditional broadcasting methods to digital platforms. This transition is driven by increased internet penetration, the growing popularity of mobile devices, and the demand for more diverse and interactive content.

According to event convenors, the event will showcase the latest innovations and emerging trends in digital broadcasting across East Africa.

Commenting on the event, Ms Tigist Kebede, Director at Habeshaview and the event convener, said, “This convention will provide a unique opportunity for industry players, policymakers, and technology experts to collaborate on addressing industry challenges. Discussions are expected to centre around strategies for expanding digital infrastructure, ensuring inclusivity, and fostering innovation in the sector.”

The convention in Addis Ababa on 7th – 8th May 2024, will serve as a crucial platform for stakeholders to review the state of play, share insights, and chart a course for the future of digital broadcasting in the region.
