Paramount has named Allie McLarty as the new senior vice president of global communications, a position that has been recently established. In this role, she will report directly to Brooke Robertson, the studio’s executive VP for global communications.
Before this appointment, McLarty was serving as Paramount Global’s senior VP of corporate and financial communications. In that capacity, she managed media relations and communications strategies for corporate, policy, and legal matters, collaborating with executives from film, television, streaming, and other essential divisions within the Paramount organisation.
Melissa Zukerman, Paramount’s chief communications officer, expressed enthusiasm about McLarty’s transition, stating that this new structure will provide Brooke with crucial senior-level backing across Paramount Pictures, Paramount Television Studios, and the emerging Paramount Sports Entertainment, while also ensuring continuity in significant corporate functions as they enhance their content storytelling efforts. Zukerman emphasised that McLarty will continue to oversee her responsibilities related to Government Affairs and litigation support within the Paramount corporate framework.
Zukerman also reflected on their first meeting, which occurred during the integration of PSKY Comms over a year and a half ago, recalling her immediate impression of McLarty. She noted that McLarty has become an indispensable member of her team, displaying the discipline, humanity, and resilience necessary for the company’s success. She expressed excitement for McLarty’s new role and her continued involvement within the broader organisation. Zukerman encouraged everyone to join in congratulating Allie on her new position.
Before joining Paramount, McLarty served as executive VP of special situations and co-head of U.S. operations at Edelman, where she provided counsel to Fortune 500 companies. Her career began on the campaign trail, serving as a member of Senator Mark Kirk’s (R-IL) official staff in Washington, DC.
