Wedotv Expands On MENA With Localised FAST Channels On Samsung TV Plus

Wedotv is enhancing its reach in the Middle East by launching three localised FAST channels on Samsung TV Plus, targeting key markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to provide content that resonates with audiences in the region.

Currently, two channels—wedotv Big Stories and wedotv Sports MENA—are already available on the platform, while wedotv Cars is set to debut by the end of the month. Samsung TV Plus operates in 30 countries worldwide, offering free ad-supported streaming television to an expanding audience.

Iza Piotrowska, SVP of Global Business Development at wedotv, stated, “We developed these specific versions of our FAST channels to cater to the Middle East, particularly with wedotv Cars, which was designed to connect with the region’s vibrant car culture. Our goal is to foster deeper audience engagement, which ultimately benefits advertisers looking for meaningful connections and enhances engagement within the Samsung TV Plus environment.”

Wedotv Big Stories features a variety of factual and documentary programming, including Life on the Edge, Wardens, Wardens Case Files, Wildlife Heroes, and Survive the Wild, all with Arabic subtitles for increased accessibility.

On the other hand, Wedotv Sports MENA offers a blend of live sports coverage and analysis, showcasing events like the Scottish Football League, Italy’s Lega Basket, the Turkish Basketball Super League, the PSA Squash Tour, and BWF Badminton. The channel also features sports-centric programs such as The Football Review, The Inside Line, Sport Confidential, and Total Combat, all subtitled in Arabic.

The soon-to-launch wedotv Cars channel will highlight automotive content, including test drives, documentaries, and motorsport programming. It will feature series like Motorcycles, which delves into high-performance bikes across various terrains, and Perfect Ride, which features experts reviewing the latest vehicles alongside their competitors.

This expansion builds on wedotv’s previous efforts in the MENA region, which included the earlier launches of wedotv Big Stories and wedotv Sports MENA on evision, the media arm of e&, as well as the Starz On ad-supported platform in October of last year, further solidifying the company’s growth strategy in the region.
